A Rain-Soaked Beginning

The storm had not yet passed when Ami and her mother saw them.
Two small yellow puppies lay near the roadside, soaked from the rain, unmoving against the cold pavement. Ami rushed forward, hoping she had arrived in time. But one had already slipped away.
The second was barely breathing.
She wrapped him in her hands, trying to warm him, whispering softly as rain continued to fall. But despite her effort, he too grew still.
The grief was heavy.
As she prepared to carry them away for burial, a faint sound reached her ears — a weak, trembling cry.
Not from the road.
But from near a drainage ditch.
There, barely visible beneath dirt and rainwater, lay a third puppy.
Small.
White.
Shivering.
Alive.
Without hesitation, Ami gathered him gently and brought him home.
A Fragile Beginning With Unexpected Strength
She named him Little Dot.
He was tiny — far smaller than most puppies his age. His fur was dirty and clumped from rain. His body trembled even in warmth.
But something inside him was determined.
By the second day, he had already discovered the food bowl belonging to Fan Fan, Ami’s older Poodle. Despite his size, he attempted to sneak bites when no one was looking.
It was a small act.
But it showed life.

A Night of Fear and Devotion
On the fifth night, his strength faltered.
He began vomiting. Then came weakness and diarrhea. His small body seemed to collapse inward. Ami stayed awake through the night, cleaning, comforting, monitoring every breath.
At dawn, she rushed him to the veterinarian.
Because he was still so small, the doctor advised careful monitoring at home rather than aggressive intervention. It would depend on close attention, warmth, hydration — and patience.
Ami did not leave his side.
Drop by drop.
Hour by hour.
Little Dot stabilized.
Slowly, his appetite returned.
His eyes brightened.
The fragile life she had carried home from the rain began to stand on its own.
Learning to Share a Home
By day eight, Little Dot had adjusted to indoor life.
He learned quickly — using training pads properly, following Ami from room to room. But his personality emerged just as quickly.
Bold.
Playful.
Sometimes mischievous.
He teased Fan Fan relentlessly. He claimed beds that weren’t his. He attempted to steal food from bowls twice his size.
Fan Fan, older and more dignified, tolerated him with visible patience.
To ease the tension, Ami bought an extra bed. Peace, like trust, required small adjustments.
Gradually, the two dogs learned to coexist. Occasional growls faded. Shared naps began to replace competition.
A New Chapter

By day thirty, Little Dot was strong, healthy, and growing quickly.
A close friend of Ami — someone with the space and means to provide a secure future — offered to adopt him.
It was not an easy decision.
But it was the right one.
Little Dot moved into a spacious home, surrounded by comfort and steady care.
Weeks passed.
On day seventy-four, Ami went to visit him.
She barely recognized the small, fragile puppy she once found in the rain.
His white coat was clean and bright.
His body strong.
His energy unstoppable.
And when Fan Fan visited too, something beautiful happened.
They played.
No guarding.
No growling.
No rivalry.
Just two dogs, joyful and free.
From Storm to Sunshine

Little Dot’s story did not begin gently.
It began with loss.
But it continued with care.
Ami could not save every life that day in the rain.
But she saved one.
And that one life grew, healed, and found a future far brighter than its beginning.
Sometimes, rescue begins in heartbreak.
And sometimes, it leads to something unexpectedly beautiful — a life rewritten by patience, courage, and love.
