They were living inside a narrow, twisting dirt tunnel buried beneath the ground. The space was unstable and cramped, the kind of place where one wrong move could cause collapse. Their mother was nowhere to be found. The den stretched deep enough that crawling inside would put both rescuers and puppies at serious risk.

They scrambled deeper into the tunnel, out of sight. The den extended nearly four meters—too long and narrow to enter safely. With calm precision, a rescuer used a soft snare, guiding each frightened puppy forward without harm.

The risk grew with every movement.

Digging a Way Where None Existed

When it became clear the tunnel was too dangerous, the team made a careful decision.

Rather than force their way in, they began digging from above—creating a second access point. Hour after hour, they worked steadily, removing dirt by hand, ensuring the tunnel remained stable.

One by one, puppies were brought to the surface.

And then, one more.

In the end, nine puppies were rescued—not eight as first reported. The smallest, the runt, was found last—hidden deepest of all.

The puppies were taken to a veterinary clinic, where they received full meals, gentle health checks, and the care they had never known. The next day, they met Olive—a calm, nurturing Pitbull who became their foster mother.
