A Dangerous Fall Into Darkness

In an old abandoned well, built long ago with rough bricks and stone, a frightened dog found himself trapped in a life-threatening situation.

At the bottom of the deep shaft, water had collected over time. The brown dog had fallen inside and could not climb back out. With nowhere else to go, he perched carefully on a narrow ledge of rock just above the waterline.

It was the only place where he could keep himself from slipping into the cold water below.

Wearing protective gear, including a helmet and safety harness, he was slowly lowered down by his teammates using strong ropes secured above the well.

In his hands, he carried a large green rescue net — the safest way to bring the trapped dog back to the surface.
